IKEA signs new frame agreement with Royal Boon Edam Group Holding B.V.
On Friday 4th June 2010 Royal Boon Edam Group Holding B.V. welcomed Mr Bengt Sandmann, IKEA Purchaser - Category Construction, to its headquarters in Edam, Holland, to sign the new frame agreement for the worldwide supply of Revolving Doors to IKEA stores and shopping centres.
With 267 stores around the world and 590 million visitors, IKEA is focused on energy efficiency, and in doing so, have chosen to use Boon Edam Revolving Doors on its store entrances and exits, to create a balanced climate for customers and staff. The revolving door is "always open, yet, always closed", creating a barrier to draughts, dirt and noise.
Boon Edam Revolving Doors have been installed on IKEA stores throughout the world, as a result of many years of cooporation. IKEA have put together an extensive plan for the next couple of years, including rebuilding, relocating, opening stores in new locations and creating IKEA shopping centres and distribution centres, which will be equipped with Boon Edam Revolving Doors.
In order to enable the large number of customers visiting IKEA stores at any one time, and customers carrying large objects, Boon Edam provide high capacity Tournex and Duotour Revolving Doors, up to a diameter of 7400mm.
Boon Edam offer a worldwide distribution network, including subsidiary companies in 15 countries, factories in the Netherlands, China and the USA and authorised distributors in over 50 countries in Europe, Asia/Pacific, the Americas, the Middle East and Africa.
